luxury cruise lines - small ships   luxury cruise lines - large ships

If you’ve traveled with big ship cruise lines in the past, it’s time to forget everything you thought you knew about cruising. And if you've avoided cruising because you thought it would be like traveling in a floating mall, it's time to think again. This is something else altogether.

These cruise lines are for the discerning traveler who enjoys a smaller ship and an unstructured nature on board. All of the cruise companies in this category offer spacious, ocean-view suites, many, truly gourmet dining options with open seating for all meals and the luxurious freedom of an all-inclusive lifestyle. These are the ships for those who enjoy the best of the best, incomparable service, sumptuous cuisine and lavish staterooms. We compare these lines to a Four Seasons or a Ritz Carlton hotel property.

Crystal Cruises is in a class by itself. Unlike the smaller ships in the luxury category, Crystal Cruises offers traditional, fixed seating for dining in the main dining rooms. There are also up to six alternative dining options including: Silk Road and Sushi Bar on the Crystal Serenity; Prego, for regionally inspired dishes of Italy on both ships, the Vintage Room for wine-themed dinners and casual dining at the Trident Bar and Grill. The Crystal Serenity also offers “Tastes” on special theme nights. Although not entirely, all-inclusive, you will enjoy mineral water, soft drinks and specialty coffee drinks on a complimentary basis.

Another hallmark of Crystal is their on board enrichment programs — learn tips for digital photo finishing in the Computer University @Sea, take piano lessons with Yamaha, foreign language workshops with Berlitz and hear informative lectures by distinguished authors, politicians and celebrities.
